PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University women's soccer team had some unfortunate luck, hitting the bar twice in the opening half hour of an eventual 0-1 loss to Chestnut Hill on Tuesday evening.
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) first drilled the crossbar in the 10th minute, before
Maura Kilkenny's (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) header deflected off the left post in the 30th.
The Griffins goal came just 1:05 following Loper's near miss.
HFU's only shot on net came on the first attempt of the match 5:38, with
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) being denied, and the Tigers best chance in the second came with a miss that was just high in the 84th minute.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) was forced into just two saves herself, coming 20 seconds prior to halftime and then in the 60th minute.
