PHILADELPHIA –Bridgeport netted the lone goal of the match with 6:49 remaining to down the HFU women's soccer team in action at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
Holy Family controlled the first half with an 11-4 edge in attempts, including seven of the first eight over the opening 23 minutes with
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)),
Bridget Dickson (Somerdale, N.J./Sterling) and
Carly Fox (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy (Penn State Berks)) all having shots stopped in a 3:50 stretch, but the Tigers could not take advantage.
Fox also had an attempt saved in the 30th minute.
Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) provided HFU's pressure in the second half with shots on target 14 seconds out of the break and then two and a half minutes prior to the final whistle.
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) also had an attempt stopped in the 67th minute.
Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made seven saves in net, including one less than a minute before the game-winner to keep the score tied at 0-0.
