PHILADELPHIA – Ahead for nearly the entirety of the contest, the HFU women's soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Caldwell after the Cougars scored twice in the final 12 minutes on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
Freshmen
Bella Scurci (Selbyville, Del./Indian River) and
Jessica Levush (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) assisted each other three and a half minutes apart in the 16th and 19th minutes, and the Tigers looked to be on their way to a victory until Caldwell pulled within one in the 79th minute.
The Cougars then scored on a free kick with 1:25 remaining to seal what would ultimately become a draw.
The goals were the first of their careers for both Scurci and Levush, while Scurci moved into the team lead with her second assist. Levush's assist was also the first of her career.
