NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The HFU volleyball team played its final non-conference road match of the season at Southern Connecticut State on Thursday evening.
Individual Highlights
- Maeve Boylan (Ridley Township, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) led all players with 13 digs, while Kyla Sayson (Sewell, N.J./Gloucester Institute of Technology) tied a match-high with nine assists
- Jayden Bralts (Jupiter, Fla./Jupiter) and Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) led the Tigers with five kills apiece, with Ava Kidd (Walton, Ky./Larry A. Ryle (Saint Anselm)) adding four

- Holy Family had two more digs, 39-37, and just one less kill, 23-24, but the Owls held edges in both aces (2-13) and blocks (1-8)
How it Happened
First Set (14-25)
- Neither team led by more than three until six straight points gave Southern Connecticut State a 9-17 advantage
Second Set (20-25)
- Holy Family jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but SCSU came back with the next 12 points
- A 5-1 stretch, including two kills by Bralts, got the Tigers as close as 14-15, but the Owls responded with four unanswered
Third Set (17-25)
- Southern Connecticut State tallied seven points in a row for a 9-20 score-line and eventual win
