PHILADELPHIA – Less than 48 hours after its season-opening 5-0 shutout of St. Thomas Aquinas, the HFU women's soccer team fell to East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.
The Warriors scored three times in the opening 39:01 in what turned out to be a 0-3 final.
Kristen Conway (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) kept a second half clean sheet for the Tigers, making five saves.
Holy Family held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks but could not convert that into a score.
Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) and
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) both had multiple shots, including one on net, with
Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) also working the keeper.
Rebecca Casper (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) had the first attempt of the afternoon, but it was ESU who opened the scoring via a penalty kick 16:48 into the action.
Hess had an effort to tie it stopped just over 32 minutes in, and the Warriors took control with goals 4:18 apart minutes later.
