Hooten Nets Hat Trick as Women’s Soccer Opens CACC Play with 4-1 Win at Felician

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) netted her first career hat trick and Izzy Mignon (Pipersville, Pa./Central Bucks East) scored her first career goal, the game-winner via the penalty spot, as the HFU women's soccer team opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a 4-1 win at Felician on Sunday evening.

The Golden Falcons opened the scoring 7:35 in on their only attempt over the first 65:45, but it was all the Tigers from there as they registered 18 of the final 20 shots.

It took just over 20 minutes for HFU to equalize and less than five minutes after that for the Tigers to take the lead as it was Lexi Murphy (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional (Saint Francis U)) finding Hooten for her first score.

Mignon then stepped up to the penalty spot and converted in the 34th minute.

Hooten then needed just 9:32 of the second half to complete her hat trick, as Maddie Maguire (Sewell, N.J./Nazareth Academy (Rider)) joined Murphy in tallying her first assist of the season.

It was part of a performance in which Holy Family outshot Felician 18-3, including 12-2 on frame.

Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) led all players with seven attempts, while tying Hooten with a match-high three shots on target.

Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made two saves in the victory.
