RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The HFU men's soccer team opened up its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule at Felician on Sunday night, dropping an 0-2 decision to the Golden Falcons.
Holy Family had a 6-0 edge in corners and the shots on goal were an even 7-8, but the Tigers could not break through.
HFU had the opening two attempts, the first of which saw
Tajhay Williams' (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) effort stopped, but it was Felican opening the scoring 7:38 in.
The Tigers did not threaten the frame again in the first half, despite attempts from
Lautaro Berisso (La Plata, Argentina/) – his second - and
Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy), and
Luke Shank (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) was forced into his first save two and a half minutes before the break to keep the match at 0-1.
The Golden Falcons started the second half on the front foot and broke through in the 73rd minute for unneeded insurance, despite HFU threating with the final three shots, including an attempt on frame by
Kerin St. Clair Jr. (Union, N.J./Union)
