Holy Family University women's track & field star Kenisha Greenwood (Jamaica) on Wednesday was named the CACC Student-Athlete of the Month for April 2023, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Greenwood was honored for her brilliant performances on the track during the month, while also demonstrating success in the classroom, and a willingness to give back to her local community.

On the track, Greenwood was named CACC Track Athlete of the Week three times for performances that took place during April. She ran three NCAA provisional times in the 400m hurdles, won a total of four golds and was also a member of a 4x400m relay quartet that set yet another NCAA provisional mark. The highlight of her month came when she posted a 400m hurdle time of 59.53 that at the time ranked tied for eighth in Division II, en route to winning gold at the Widener Invitational on April 2.

Greenwood began the month winning the 400m hurdles at Widener's Danny Curran Invitational on April 1, topping the field of 30 as she crossed in 1:01.37. The sophomore was also a member of the 4x400m relay team that won gold in 3:58.44, ahead of 14 other foursomes, and she recorded top 10 finishes with CACC standards in both the 100m hurdles (16.29) and 100m (12.83) too, placing fourth out 72 in the latter. Greenwood beat out 25 competitors to win at the Widener Invitational, while posting another top 10 finish in a field of 57 in the 100m (12.75). There she also teamed with Nyoki Jones (Jersey City, N.J./Snyder), Ariel Salkey (Queens, N.Y./Francis Lewis) and Shania Le Maitre (Champs Fleurs, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name Convent) to run the fastest 4x400m relay time in the CACC this season, plus an NCAA provisional time of 3:49.03, to cross ahead 15 other quartets for a second straight gold. She ended her month competing at the historic Penn Relays, where she ran yet another NCAA provisional mark in the 400m hurdles, 1:01.27, while finishing eighth out of 24 as part of HFU's 4x400m foursome.

In the classroom, the sophomore from Jamaica sports a cumulative grade point average of 3.31 in her major of pre-nursing. She is a Dean's List honoree at Holy Family and was a 2022 USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.

In the community, Greenwood has volunteered for eight weeks at the CYO Cross Country Meets in Philadelphia, and has also volunteered at the Philly 10K and the Philadelphia Distance Run.

The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out each month from September through May, spanning the course of the academic year. The award recognizes a student-athletes athletic success, academic achievement and community service. Greenwood becomes the first athlete from HFU this season to earn the monthly honor.
