Track & Field Receives Three Weekly Awards from CACC

Three members of the HFU track & field program – Kenisha Greenwood (Jamaica/), Sydonia Turner (Philadelphia, PA) and Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) - have won Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly awards for their performances at last weekend's Danny Curran Invitational. 
 
Greenwood was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while both Turner and Bowen were tabbed as the Field Rookies of the Week. 
 
Kenisha Greenwood (Jamaica/) – CACC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Greenwood finished in the top 10 and set CACC Championship standards in all three individual events she competed in, highlighted by becoming the first CACC female track athlete to set an NCAA provisional this season after winning the 400m hurdles. She was also a member of the quartet that won the 4x400m relay. 
 
The junior topped a field of 30 in the 400m hurdles after crossing in 1:01.37 for the seventh fastest time in Division II this season. 
 
She also placed in the top 10 of both the 100m and 100m hurdles with collegiate PRs of 12.83 and 16.29, respectively, the former of which now ranks second in the league. 
 
Greenwood closed out the day leading off the 4x400m relay team that would go on to beat 14 other foursomes after combining to finish in 3:58.44 for the fastest time in the CACC this season.
 
Sydonia Turner (Philadelphia, PA)– CACC Women's Field Rookie of the Week
Turner cleared a CACC Championship standard and collegiate PR in the high jump, 1.51m, to move into fourth in the conference. 
 
Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) – CACC Men's Field Rookie of the Week        
Bowen placed in the top seven of both the long jump and triple jump with CACC Championship standards. 
 
He finished fourth out of 40 in the long jump after marking at 6.71m for the third furthest distance in the league this season, while moving into sixth in the triple jump after landing at 13.47m.
