Holy Family track & field has won five of the eight weekly awards handed out by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), with by the HFU men receiving three of the four, for performances at the Widener Invitational over the weekend.
Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennwood) swept the track awards as both the Athlete and Rookie of the Week, while
Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) repeated as Field Athlete of the Week.
On the women's side,
Kenisha Greenwood (Jamaica) won her second Track Athlete of the Week of the season, while
Mikayla Hall (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) was named the Field Rookie of the Week.
Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennwood) – Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week
Anyika ran the fastest 400m in the CACC this season, 49.31, to post a top 10 finish in a field of 73.
Kenisha Greenwood (Jamaica) – Track Athlete of the Week
Greenwood posted the third fastest 400m hurdle time in Division II this season, an NCAA provisional 59.53, to win gold. After topping the field of 26, she was then a member of the 4x400m relay quartet that won gold over 15 others foursomes with another NCAA provisional, 3:49.03, for the fastest time in the CACC this season.
Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) – Field Athlete of the Week
Pierre won the high jump and triple jump, while placing second in the long jump. He cleared an NCAA provisional 2.07m in the high jump to move into a tie for 16th in Division II. He beat out 23 other entries in the high jump and nine others in the triple jump after marking at 14.40m, while his second place finish in the long jump after landing at 6.90m came in a field of 48.
Mikayla Hall (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton West) – Field Rookie of the Week
Hall placed fourth out of 40 in the long jump after marking at a school record 5.27m to move into sixth in the CACC.
