Inside the Box Score
- Holy Family had double the amount of hits as Dominican in the doubleheader, 28-14, as it registered its two highest hit totals of the season with 15 in the nightcap and 13 in the game one
How it Happened
Game One
- Seven of the first eight Tigers to come to the plate in the seventh reached, beginning with Letizia's base on balls
- Hobel followed with a single, before Grubb got HFU on the board with a two-RBI double
- Angelina Bresnen (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell Egan) then tripled for what turned out to be the game-winner
- After the first out, three straight singles by Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Tidaback and Miller, the first and third of which drove in runs, closed out the scoring in the frame
- Tidaback then responded to an RBI double in the bottom-half by retiring the final two she faced
- Holy Family stranded runners in scoring position in both the second and third, and after the first six Chargers were retired Dominican finally broke the deadlock with two consecutive hits to begin the third
- The damage could have been worse if not for Kylee Jones (Hulmeville, Pa./Neshaminy (Rider)) cutting down a Charger at the plate from shortstop
- HFU had two runners reach scoring position in both the fifth and sixth to no avail, but the defense kept the score at 1-0 entering the seventh thanks to a relay executed by the right fielder Leedom, second baseman Miller and catcher Letizia
Game Two
- Grubb wasted no time in getting Holy Family on the board in the nightcap as she led the game off with a single, stole second and came in on a Clayborne single
- Dominican answered with a two-run homer in the bottom-half, but five of the first six Tigers to come to the plate in the second recorded a hit en route to a three-run frame that gave HFU the lead for good
- Letizia led off with a single before back-to-back doubles by Hobel and Grubb put the Tigers on top
- After the first out was recorded, it was another Clayborne single that this time made it 4-2
- In the fourth, Grubb and Clayborne combined to immediately cancel out the Chargers' third inning run with a double and a single
- Grubb later singled home Hobel, who led off the sixth with a hit-by-pitch, for a 6-3 cushion in the sixth, before driving in Leedom, who had singled with one out, with another single in the seventh
- That proved important when Dominican hit a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom-half, as Patterson was able to respond by getting the final out
