Women’s Lacrosse Clinches CACC Tournament Berth with 15-3 Victory Over Chestnut Hill

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy HFU women's lacrosse team clinched its third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament berth with a 15-3 victory over Chestnut Hill on Wednesday night at Tiger Field.  
 
Individual Highlights
  • Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) led all players with a career-high six ground balls, while posting the match's second highest totals with six draw controls and a career-best four caused turnovers
    • She is now seventh the program's single-season history with 72 draw controls on the year
  • Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) and Rianna Shields (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) had the match's two highest point totals with seven and five, respectively, as each scored four times
    • Santucci's three assists were a career-high, while her seven points were a season-best
      • She moved into fifth in program history with 36 career assists, while her 172 points are now tied for sixth all-time 
    • One match after breaking the program's single-season goal record with 70, Shields has now set the program's single-season points record with 81
      • She also led all players with a career-high five caused turnovers
  • Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) led all players with seven draw controls to move into second in the program's single-season annals with 99
    • Hardy was second HFU with two assists and she also scored twice
  • Paige Affet (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower Catholic)t scored twice as well to tie a new season-best in both goals and ground balls with three
  • Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) had three ground balls too, a new career-high, along with Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) and Maura Coleman (Lower Moreland, Pa./Little Flower) to all finish second on the Tigers 
  • Emma Hurley (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) stopped six of the nine shots she faced in a winning effort
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Holy Family set new season-highs in shots and ground balls with respective 46-13 and 32-17 edges 
 
How it Happened 
  • After neither team scored for the opening eight and a half minutes, HFU broke out for three goals over the final 6:07 of the first quarter, with Santuci playing a part in two of them
  • CHC scored its only first half goal 47 seconds into the second, only to have Shields respond 16 seconds later to begin a stretch of six unanswered to end the half
    • Santucci scored three in a row over the course of less than three minutes, before Shields completed a first half hat trick of her own 45 seconds ahead of the halftime buzzer
  • The Griffins opened the second half scoring, but the Tigers would score six in a row once again highlighted by back-to-back goals by Affett to begin the fourth
