Women’s Lacrosse Hangs with No. 15 Flagler Early

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The HFU women's lacrosse team opened the scoring and were tied 4-4 with No. 15 Flagler early in the second quarter before the Saints pulled away for an eventual 9-18 win that was ended early because of lightning.  
 
Individual Highlights
  • Lynn Hardy (Audubon, N.J./Camden Catholic) led all players with eight draw controls and two assists, while posting a team-high two ground balls and adding a goal
    • She also had a caused turnover to move into a tie for eighth in program history with 44 for her career
  • Rianna Shields (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) had the match's second highest total with a team-best four goals, while Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) had the match's second highest total with five draw controls
    • Sanutcci is now eighth in program history with 123 career draw controls
  • Tatceyana Pulley (Edgewater Park, N.J./Burlington City) had three points with two goals and assist, while Tori Wolstenholme (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) and Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) each tallied two ground balls
  • Emma Hurley (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Moreland) made 11 saves in net
 
Inside the Box Score
  • Holy Family won the draw control battle 16-13 and had a season-best 14 free-position shots compared to Flagler's 10
  • The Tigers also posted a season-best .917 shot on goal percentage
 
How it Happened 
  • Hardy opened the scoring 50 seconds in and following three consecutive Saints goals, back-to-back scores by Shields made it 3-3 after 15 minutes of play
  • Shields also knotted the score at 4-4 with 13:09 left in the second quarter
  • Flagler would respond with four unanswered though, beginning an 1-8 surge to end the half
  • The Saints would then tally the first five goals of the second half, before Pulley scored two in a run of four straight for HFU that made it 9-17 with 8:58 to play
  • Flagler answered 1:25 later and the game was called immediately after
