JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Holy Family University women's basketball team clinched its spot in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament with a 74-51 victory at Alliance on Saturday night.
Individual Highlights
- Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) led the Tigers with 14 points and a career-high five assists in just 17 minutes. She made 5-of-7 field goals and a career-best 4-of-5 3-pointers
- Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) and Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) each made 4-of-7 triples en route to 12 points, one shy of a season-high for the former
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) added eight points of 4-of-5 shooting, while leading HFU with seven rebounds in eight minutes
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) led the Tigers with two steals
Inside the Box Score
- HFU made 15-of-27 3-pointers, 55.6 percent, tied for its most since the beginning of the 2010-11 season
- The Tigers' 25 assists were their most since they had 26 in a win over District of Columbia on Nov. 9, 2018
- The Holy Family bench outscored Alliance's 26-10, as all 11 Tigers to play scored
How it Happened
- Holy Family scored the first 10 points, highlighted by two Morrow trifectas, and led throughout
- Prevost's layup gave HFU its first double-digit lead 3:15 in, and it was also her layup that put the Tigers ahead by double-figures, 20-10, entering the second quarter
- A Tretter triple 1:27 into the second then put Holy Family on top by double-digits for good, 23-12
- That was the first of three straight HFU 3-pointers, the final two of which were by Riepe and Hinkle, beginning a 19-2 surge to end the half
- Alliance did not score for the final 5:51, as Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) scored the final four points to establish a 39-14 cushion entering the locker room following a 19-4 second period
