ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The HFU women's basketball team was defeated by Dominican, 58-67, in a matchup between the two second place teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) recorded her third career double-double with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, while leading all players with a season-best three blocks
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) fell one point shy of a game-high with 17 on 6-of-10 shooting, while falling one board shy of her second double-double of the season
- Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) and Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) each scored six, with Moore leading all players with five assists and four steals

- Holy Family turned it over just six times, compared to Dominican's 15, leading to a 13-5 edge in points off turnovers
- The Tigers outscored the Chargers 34-24 in the paint and made three more field goals, 23-20, but Dominican made 10 more free throws (9-19) and five more 3-pointers (3-8)
How it Happened
First Quarter
- The Chargers led by as many as four, 4-8, before scoring the final four points of the period for a 12-15 advantage after 10 minutes of play
Second Quarter
- HFU tallied the first four points of the second, and the two teams traded five lead changes until Dominican scored nine in a row for the largest lead of the first half, 21-28, 2:25 ahead of the break
- Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) responded with a 3-pointer, but a Chargers and-one in the final seconds re-established yet another seven-point cushion entering the locker room
Third Quarter
- The Tigers got as close as three, 28-31, when Prevost opened the second half with back-to-back layups, but consecutive trifectas gave Dominican its largest advantage, 28-37, with 5:54 showing
- The Chargers led by eight, 32-40, two minutes later, before back-to-back layups by Searfoss cut the deficit to four with an even three minutes on the clock
- Two Moore free throws also made the score 38-42 entering the final minute, but Dominican again closed a quarter with a three-point play
Fourth Quarter
- The Chargers opened the fourth with successive baskets for the first double-digit cushion of the afternoon
- HFU pulled within eight, 43-51, on two Searfoss foul shot with 7:31 remaining, but the Tigers could not do so again until the final minute of play
