PHILADELPHIA – The HFU women's basketball team held multiple double-digit leads and was ahead of nationally-ranked No. 10 Jefferson at halftime, before the Rams stormed back for a 59-65 win over the Tigers in the two teams' regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) led all players with four steals, while pacing Holy Family with nine rebounds
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) led the Tigers with 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting and was second with eight rebounds and three assists
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, to go along with a game-high two blocks
- Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) was also in double-figures with 11 points, including 3-of-4 3-pointers

How it Happened
First Quarter
- Tretter opened the scoring with a 3-pointer 1:01 in and HFU led until the 6:10 mark of the third quarter
- An Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) jumper capped seven unanswered to give the Tigers their first double-digit advantage, 14-4, 4:09 in
- That first quarter lead reached as high as 11, 23-12, when Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) hit a jumper in the final minute, before the Rams closed the period with a 3-pointer
Second Quarter
- Holy Family then led by a game-high, 29-17, when Searfoss capped six in a row with 8:10 left in the half
- The Tigers were still ahead nine, 33-24, four minutes ahead of the break after Jenn Kokolus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) made a layup, only to have Jefferson score the final eight points of the half to cut the deficit to one entering the locker room
Third Quarter
- Prevost began the third by making three free throws and HFU also led by four, 38-34, on a Searfoss layup with 7:22 showing
- The Rams scored five unanswered for their first lead, beginning a 4-15 surge to go ahead 42-49 with 4:07 on the clock
- Searfoss responded with five straight to get the Tigers as close as 47-49, but Jefferson closed the period with two foul shots for a four-point edge
Fourth Quarter
- After the Rams opened the fourth quarter scoring, HFU pulled within four twice, including at 51-55 following a Prevost layup with 5:21 to go
- Jefferson countered with five in a row though, and the Tigers were unable to make it a one-possession score-line down the stretch
- Holy Family got as close as four twice, including at 58-62 on a Searfoss layup with 1:42 remaining
- The Tigers scored just one more point though, and the Rams scored three points in the final 1:04
