How it Happened
First Quarter
  • Four different Tigers scored the first nine points as HFU went ahead 9-0 just 3:25 in
  • Chestnut Hill did not score for the opening 4:59, but the Griffins would tally the final seven points of the period to make it a two-point game after 10 minutes of play
Second Quarter
  • Holy Family opened the second with the first seven points, the final four of which were by Prevost as her layup established a second nine-point cushion, 16-7, with 8:05 showing
  • The Tigers will still ahead 21-16 following a Prevost hook shot, only to have CHC score seven unanswered for a second time to take its first lead, 21-23, 2:46 before the break
  • Prevost scored four in a row to regain a two-point advantage, and after a CHC 3-pointer and Moore free throw, the Griffins closed out the scoring with a layup for a two-point cushion, 26-28, entering the locker room
Third Quarter
  • Chestnut Hill then started the third with the first four points to build its largest lead, 26-32, just 1:25 into the half
  • The Griffins were still on top 30-34 two minutes later before Searfoss scored four in a row, and HFU would not trail again after Prevost's hook shoot put it ahead 36-34 with 4:15 on the clock
  • Tretter's 3-pointer capped a 13-3 surge, featuring six Searfoss points, for a 43-35 advantage at the 2:27 mark, and Riepe's triple 27 seconds ahead of the fourth gave the Tigers' their first double-digit cushion, 48-38
  • The Griffins would close the quarter with a layup to make it an eight-point game going into the fourth
Fourth Quarter
  • Searfoss' jumper with 8:01 to go established a second double-digit lead, 53-42, but CHC battled all the way back to within two, 57-59, when two foul shots completed a 2-7 flurry with 1:58 left
  • Tretter responded with a triple the ensuing possession though, and the Griffins would not score again as Searfoss iced the contest with two free throws at the 23-second mark
