Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) and
Korryn Braxton-Young (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) have been named the final East Coast Conference (ECC) Indoor Track & Field Field Athletes of the Week of the 2022-23 season after breaking their own school records at the Fasttrack National Invitational on Friday.
Both are both repeat honorees, as Pierre captured the award on both Jan. 17 and Jan. 23 and Braxton-Young received the accolade on Dec. 12.
Pierre broke his previous school record of 14.80m by in the triple jump by .05m to mark second out of 31 with an NCAA provisional, trailing only a competitor from Division I St. Francis (N.Y.). He also placed eighth out of 26 after landing at 6.79m in the long jump.
Braxton-Young beat her previous school record of 12.71m by .11m to mark amongst the top-half of 63 entries in the weight throw. She also finished eighth out of 61 in the shot put after her furthest toss traveled 11.81m.
