WILMINGTON, Del. – The Holy Family University women's basketball team won 90-64 at Goldey-Beacom in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Wednesday evening.
Individual Highlights
- Carly Bolivar (Elmont, N.Y./Sewanhaka (Alliance)) matched game-highs with two steals and 17 points, including making 9-of-10 free throws, while adding seven boards
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) (career-best 11) and Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) (10) had the two-highest rebounding totals, with the duo adding 13 (5-of-7 shooting) and 12 points (6-of-11 shooting) for respective double-doubles
- It was Hinkle's third double-double in five games, and Searfoss' second of the season
- Searfoss also led all players with four assists
- Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) tied a career-best with two blocks to lead all players, while adding eight points
- She made two 3-pointers to move into a tie for 10th in program history with 103 for her career
- Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) contributed 13 points and a career-high seven rebounds
- Freshman Kara Meredith (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Archbishop Wood) scored in double-figures for the first time as she made 4-of-5 field goals and both of her 3-point attempts

- The Tigers shot a season-best 47.9 percent (34-of-71) from the floor, while limiting the Lightning to 34.8 percent (24-of-69)
How it Happened
- GBC tallied the first four points and held three-point leads of 9-12 and 13-16, but HFU took over down the stretch of the first quarter
- The Tigers closed the period on an 11-1 surge over the final 3:42, with Bolivar (five points) and Dougherty (four) doing a bulk of the damage
- Dougherty closed out the stretch with a layup for a 24-17 score-line after 10 minutes of play
- Holy Family then poured in nine of the first 11 points of the second, with four different Tigers scoring as a Tretter 3-pointer completed a 20-3 run for a 33-19 cushion with 8:13 left in the first half
- The Lightning momentarily cut the deficit to single digits twice, including at 35-26 with 5:48 showing, but a Dougherty three-point play the next trip down the court made it a double-digit advantage for good
- A Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) 3-pointer highlighted the final portion of the second quarter, which ended with HFU on top 48-33
- Goldey-Beacom could only manage to get as close as 13 in the second half, following the first basket of the third quarter
