Women’s Soccer Earns Point with Shutout at Regionally-Ranked Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Holy Family University women's soccer team shutout regionally-ranked Bridgeport to earn a point with a 0-0 draw against the Purple Knights on Saturday.

Freshman Jaina Preuhs (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) made four saves in net, two in each half, for her first career shutout.

The Tigers had a chance to steal all three points, with Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) shooting high in the penultimate minute.

Holy Family held the advantage in corners, 5-3, while UB had a slight edge in attempts, 7-9.

Both teams had four attempts in the first half, with Preuhs making stops in the third and 22nd minutes and Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) working the keeper in the 35th, after Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) had previously shot off target twice.

Kilkenny then had two of the Tigers' three attempts in the second half, including their only on net in the 85th minute just three minutes after Preuhs made her final save of the contest.

The rookie's other second half stop came in the 62nd.

Kilkenny led all players with four shots.
