Men’s Soccer Makes History with 9-0 Shutout of Dominican

PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family men's soccer team made history with a 9-0 shutout of Dominican at a rainy Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon. 
 
The result marked Division II-era program records for goals and margin of victory and was the first time HFU scored nine times since Oct. 4, 1997. 
 
Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) and Joshua Moreland (Blackwood, N.J./Sterling) both played a part in three goals, with Williams recording his first brace with the Tigers and Moreland registering his first career points via a score and two assists. 
 
Lautaro Berisso (La Plata, Argentina/) and Jesus Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Artica) both played a part in two goals via a score and assist, both the first of the latter's career at HFU, while Sergio Gonzalez (Madrid, Spain/IES Las Musas) recorded his first two assists for the Tigers. 
 
Deshawn Bernard (Portmore, Jamaica/Wolmer's Boys School), Kevin Duffy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), Miguel Andrade (Lisbon, Portugal/Vergillo) and Mamadou Nianghane (Dakar, Senegal/Abraham Lincoln) all scored for the first time at HFU, with Nianghane striking in his collegiate debut. 
 
Kerin St. Clair Jr. (Union, N.J./Union) and Sean McKenna (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) both registered assists as well. 
 
Duffy, Mckenna, Joseph Amabile (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South), Hunter Bell (Delran, N.J./Life Center Academy), Anthony Ciceron-Elie (Montreal, Canada), Eric Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic), Jakob Hilger (Milwaukee, Wis./Muskego) and Jarrett Lalli (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) all played defensively in the shutout. 
 
Cheikh Diouf (Dakar, Senegal/MLK) made his first career start in net, keeping a clean sheet with a lone save. 
 
Holy Family outshot Dominican 32-4, including 18-1 on frame.
