PHILADELPHIA – The Holy Family University men's soccer team overcame an early Bloomfield goal, scoring four in the first half en route to a 5-1 victory over the Bears on Saturday evening at Tiger Field.
Tajhay Williams (Yallahs, Jamaica/Clarendon College) recorded her first career hat trick, putting HFU ahead 3-1 with goals 1:09 apart in the 32nd and 34th minutes before closing out the scoring in the 62nd.
The junior now leads the Tigers with seven goals on the season.
Deshawn Bernard (Portmore, Jamaica/Wolmer's Boys School) scored once and assisted another, canceling out the Bears' 14th minute opener with a long range strike set up by Williams in the 19th before setting up Williams' third.
Joshua Moreland (Blackwood, N.J./Sterling) scored for the second match in a row, putting the Tigers ahead 4-1 in the 37th with
Miguel Andrade (Lisbon, Portugal/Vergillo) had two assists, his first two with HFU, with
Sergio Revuelta (Valladolid, Spain/IES Alejandria) and
Kerin St. Clair Jr. (Union, N.J./Union) also setting up scores on the day.
Cheikh Diouf (Dakar, Senegal/MLK) made four saves in the net.
