NEWARK, Del. – After a tight first quarter, the Holy Family University women's basketball team pulled away from Wilmington for an 85-37 win over the Wildcats on Wednesday evening.
Individual Highlights
- Anjelai Hayes (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury) led all players with a career-best six assists
- Carolyn Prevost (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) posted game-highs of 14 points and six rebounds, making 6-of-8 field goals
- Freshmen Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) (5-of-7 field goals), Claire Dougherty (Lehman, Pa./Lake-Lehman) (4-of-7) and Emma Ingersoll-Weng (Iowa City, Iowa/Iowa City West) (4-of-5) scored 11, 10 and nine off the bench, new season-highs for the latter two
- Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) also scored nine, while Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) added eight on 4-of-5 shooting as seven Tigers scored at least eight points
- Tretter also led all players with a career-best four steals
- Anujin Dashdorj (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) notably tied season-highs with six points, four rebounds and three assists

- HFU shot 62.5 percent from the floor, 35-of-56, for its highest field goal percentage since the beginning of the 2010-11 season
- It is also the 11th-highest field goal percentage by a Division II team this season
- The Tigers shot a season-high, 45.0 percent (9-of-20), from beyond the arc too
How it Happened
First Quarter
- Searfoss opened the scoring with a layup 33 seconds in, and Holy Family led throughout
- That was part of an opening 8-2 run, capped by a Prevost layup 3:38 into the action
- The first quarter lead reached as high as seven, 12-5, on yet another Prevost layup with 3:21 showing
- Wilmington closed the period with seven of the last nine points, getting as close as two, 14-12, on a jumper in the final seconds
Second Quarter
- The two teams traded the opening four baskets of the second as the Wildcats got within two twice more, before eventually getting as close one, 22-21, with a fifth straight point 5:52 ahead of the break
- Wilmington would not score again though as HFU took over with the final 14 points of the half, with Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) and Prevost combining for the first 12 before Dashdorj sent the Tigers into the locker room with a 36-21 advantage
Second Half
- Holy Family scored the first eight points of the third quarter as part of a 17-2 surge, and the lead would remain 28+ for the remainder of the evening
