PHILADELPHIA – The HFU women's basketball held Post to 34 points on 20.0 percent shooting in a 56-34 victory over the Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center, which extended the Tigers' win streak to eight for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Individual Highlights
- Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) recorded her first career double-double with 10 points (6-of-6 free throws) and game-highs of a season-best 11 rebounds and three steals
- Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) led all players with 14 points on 5-of-8 field goals and 4-of-4 foul shots
- Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) added 10 points and a game-high five assists
- Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) was also in double-figures with 11 points, to go along with eight boards
- Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) recorded seven rebounds and four assists
Inside the Box Score
- Post's 20.0 percent field goal percentage, 13-of-65, was the lowest by an HFU opponent since Concordia shot 16.2 percent, 11-of-68, on Feb. 15, 2014
- Holy Family's seven turnovers were its second-fewest of the season
- The Tigers outscored the Eagles 16-2 in fastbreak points and 13-4 in points off turnovers
How it Happened
First Quarter
- Holy Family held Post scoreless for the opening 5:56, scoring the first six points
- HFU would then score 11 of the last 13 points over the final 3:47, six of which were by Hinkle before Tretter's 3-poitner put the Tigers up 17-4 after 10 minutes of play
Second Quarter
- The Eagles got within 10, 19-9, with five of the first seven points of the second, and then again at 11-21 midway through the period
- Holy Family would make five consecutive free throws though, four of which were by Searfoss, before Post closed the half with a jumper for a 26-13 score-line
Second Half
- Post was only able to get as close as 12 with the first point of third quarter, as the Tigers limited the Eagles to just four points over the opening 6:35 of the period
