PHILADELPHIA – Despite a late push that featured the match's final six shots over the last eight minutes, a Chestnut Hill equalizer with just over 10 minutes remaining meant the HFU women's soccer team was held to a third consecutive draw in action at Tiger Field on Wednesday evening.
Gianna Monaco (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) tied for the team-lead with her third goal of the season in the 55th minute, blasting a shot into the top right corner after
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) had an initial attempt cleared off the line.
The Griffins were able to equalize when a through ball created a one-on-one situation with just over 10 and half minutes to go.
CHC would see red just under five minutes later though, and the Tigers nearly made the Griffins pay with
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) hitting the crossbar before both Loper and
Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) were denied in the final 4:10.
