The HFU women's soccer team picked up its first win of 2022 in emphatic fashion, defeating Felician 9-0 in its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) home-opener at Tiger Field on Saturday afternoon.
Holy Family's nine goals were its most since scoring nine vs. Concordia on Sept. 29, 2011, while the Tigers' 35 shots were their most since they had 46 at Chestnut Hill on Oct. 4, 2016. HFU's 18 shots on goal were its most since it also had 18 at Felician on Oct. 13, 2018.
Gianna Monaco (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan),
Samantha Comontiski (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon (Harcum College)),
Carly Nothnagel (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) and
Julia Stephan (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) all scored twice.
Monaco's brace was the second of her career, while it was the first for the latter trio.
Comontiski's and Stephan's two goals were the first two of their career, and they also picked up their first career assists to match Monaco with five points.
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) had a goal and an assist too, the first points of her career, while
Jacqueline Ziegler (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) was the lone player with two assists.
Those two assists moved her into seventh in program history with 21 for her career.
Maddie Maguire (Sewell, N.J./Nazareth Academy (Rider)),
Ava Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and
Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) all picked up their first career assists for HFU, while
Mel Prinos (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) closed rounded out the box score with an assist as well.
Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) made the start in net, picking up her first win of the year, before
Emily Vickalitis (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) came on for her collegiate debut in the second half. The pair each made two saves.

How it Happened
First Half
- Monaco scored her first just 2:09 in, before Loper Made it 2-0 in the seventh minute
- Nothnagel made it three in the first half with her goal in the 27th
Second Half
- Monaco's second came 8:44 into the second half with Stephan making it 5-0 less than three minutes later, as Ziegler assisted both
- Nothnagel completed her brace in the 67th minute
- Comontiski scored twice in the final 20 minutes, with Stephan adding her second in-between in the 74th
