MANCHESTER, N.H. – Despite holding Saint Anselm without a shot on goal for the opening 54 minutes, the Holy Family University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat to the Hawks – a 2021 NCAA Tournament participant – in its season-opener on Friday evening.
Saint Anselm broke the deadlock with an even 34 minutes remaining, before adding insurance four and a half minutes before the final whistle.

How it Happened
First Half
- Ziegler produced the first shot of the evening in the ninth minute, forcing an early save from the Saint Anselm goalkeeper
- The Hawks' first shot did not come until the 19th minute
- Saint Anselm had two shots in the 37th minute, the second of which hit the cross bar
- Rebecca Casper (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) saw a 45th minute effort go wide left
Second Half
- Holy Family blocked back-to-back Saint Anselm shots in the second minute of the second half
- Pudlo stopped the first shot on her frame in the 54th minute, with the opening goal coming less than two minutes later
- Following the goal HFU recorded the next two shots, and three of the next four, with Hooten forcing a save in the 64th minute
- The Tigers kept up the pressure with shots by Hooten and Kilkenny less than a minute apart as the clock ticked under 10, before the Hawks found their second
