Holy Family University's Shania Le Maitre (Champs Fleurs, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name Convent) has been named the East Conference's (ECC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year. 
 
All ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipients hold at least a 3.30 grade point average (GPA), are a starter or key reserve, and have reached at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically.
 
Le Maitre sports a near-perfect 3.97 GPA as a junior biology major. 
 
She helped HFU capture the program's first ECC Indoor Track & Field Championship in February, winning the 800m and taking part in the 4x400m relay team that also took home gold to seal the title by five points.
