BENSALEM, Pa. - The Holy Family University softball team split a CACC doubleheader with University of the Sciences Tuesday. Senior
Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) recorded the win in game one with a complete game shutout while the Devils came from behind to take game two.

How It Happened (Game 1)
* After three scoreless innings, Holy Family scored its only two runs in the bottom of the third when senior
Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) put a shot over the left field fence.
* The Devils would only threaten in the seventh when Danielle Jones opened with a double to put herself in scoring position. Remington and the defense shut down the next three batters to seal the victory.
Inside the Box Score (Game 1)
* Remington struck out nine while allowing six hits in the effort.
* Holy Family totaled five hits with freshman
Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) going 2-for-3 to lead the team
* Paige Schlechter took the loss pitching six innings while striking out two. Jones and Abbigail Markee led Sciences with two hits each.
How It Happened (Game 2)
* Junior
Maria Leedom (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy (Shippensburg)) homered in the bottom of the second to put the team up 3-0. The Devils responded quickly to tie it up scoring a run in the third and then two in the fourth.
* Freshman
Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) singled to centerfield for an RBI putting the Tigers back on top 4-3.
* Sciences came back for the lead scoring two in the fifth off a two-RBI single from Miranda Rodriguez. They tacked on four more in the sixth off of three hits to record the victory comfortably.

* Junior
Makenna Patterson (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) recorded the loss pitching five innings allowing three earned runs off of nine hits. She struck out one. Freshman
Jalecia Blackston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Technical) game in for the sixth and allowed four earned runs off of four hits. Remington pitching the final inning shutting down the Devils allowing no hits and striking out two.
* The Tigers totaled nine hits with Leedom, senior
Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) and freshman
Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) each notching two hits.
* Megan Master earned the win pitching the full game allowing four earned runs off of nine hits while striking out six.
* Gabrielle Simms led all hitters with three hits with two RBI.
