Women's Lacrosse Wins on Senior Day Against Post, 25-11

Philadelphia, PA. – The Holy Family University women's lacrosse team takes down Post University, 25-11 in CACC action to host a playoff game next Tuesday.

How It Happened

  • The Eagles scored the first goal of the game, but the Tigers answered with a goal 22 seconds later. 
  • Post scored back to back goals to take a quick 3-1 lead.
  • The Tigers answered with five goals to end the first quarter with a 6-3 lead.
  • Holy Family started the second quarter with three goal, till Post scored back to back goals to cut the lead down to four goals. 
  • Then the Tigers would score out score Post 9-2 lead by Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional (RCBC)) scoring five goals. 
  • Holy Family would hold Post to a lone goal, while the Tigers scored two goals. 
  • The Tigers started the fourth quarter putting in three goals, but the Eagles would exchange goals but it wasn't enough to win the game.
  • Holy Family controlled the draw most of the game with a 22-17 margin. 
  • Tigers outshot the Cougars 43-25.
  • Holy Family picked up 19 ground balls to Post's nine.

Today's match marked the 15th meeting between Holy Family and Post University since the start of the 2010 season.  The Tigers are now 12-3 versus the Eagles all-time in the series.

Holy Family returns to action on Tuesday, April 26 as the Tigers host Wilmington University in the first round of the CACC playoffs. The game time is TBD.
