BENSALEM, Pa.– The Holy Family Softball team dropped a pair of conference games to Caldwell University Thursday afternoon. The Cougars scored in double digits winning 13-4 and 10-4.

How It Happened (Game 1)
* Caldwell came out hot in the opener scoring five runs in the first two innings. Senior
Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) put a run on the board for the Tigers in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to center.
* Holy Family's defense allowed three unearned runs in the fourth to make it 8-1.
* After a scoreless fifth, Caldwell plated two in the sixth making it 10-1 and putting the game in jeopardy to end early. The Tiger's came back in the bottom of the innings scoring three including a two-RBI homerun from Samantha Ciasullo.
* It wouldn't be enough as Caldwell notched three more runs in the seventh to end the game with the nine-run cushion.
Inside the Box Score (Game 1)
* Junior
Maria Leedom (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy (Shippensburg)) went 2-for-4 to lead Holy Family's nine hit-effort. The Cougars had six players with multi-hits including Maya Rodriguez and Jessica Klein who each notched three hits.
* Mariah Culver recorded the win for Caldwell pitching 5.1 innings allowing two runs off of five hits while striking out six. Allison Winters came in relief for the final 1.2 innings also allowing two runs off of four hits while striking out two.
* Junior
Makenna Patterson (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) took the loss for the Tigers. She pitched all seven innings allowing 10 earned runs off of 16 hits while striking out one.
How It Happened (Game 2)
* Holy Family jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first off an RBI single from senior
Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional). The Tigers held the lead until Caldwell's Courtney Grundhauser hit a shot over the left field fence for three RBI.
* The Cougars plated three more runs in the fifth to make it 6-1. Hansen answered in the bottom of the inning with a bomb of the centerfield fence that scored two.
* Down 7-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Ciasullo recorded an RBI off a single to left.
* Caldwell's Allison Winters and Kaylin Brozaitis both homered in the seventh to score the final three runs of the game.
Inside the Box Score (Game 2)
* Hansen ended the game 3-for-3 with three RBI. Leedom also had a strong day at the plate with two hits and a run. The Tigers totaled seven hits in the game.
* Grundhauser finished with three hits, three RBI and three runs while teammate Allison Winters led all batters with five RBI off of two hits.
* Senior
Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paul II) recorded the loss on the mount pitching seven innings allowing nine earned runs off of nine hits. She struck out 11.
* Kayla Daly earned the win pitching 4.1 innings allowing three earned runs off of four hits while stirking out six. Winters came in relief again for this game pitching 2.2 innings, allowing one run off of three hits while striking out four.

th meetings between Holy Family and Caldwell since the start of the 2002 season. The Tigers are now 7-37 versus the Cougars in the all-time series.
