STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.– The Holy Family University softball team swept Nyack College in a CACC doubleheader Friday night at the College of State Island Softball Complex. The Tigers took game one 11-5 and followed up with a 9-4 win in game two.

How It Happened (Game 1)
* After two scoreless innings, senior
Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) put the Tigers on the board hitting an RBI single down the left field line. Freshman
Carlie Miller (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) scored on the play having led off the inning with a walk.
* Hansen capped off a five-inning fourth with a grand slam. Senior
Abigail Smith (Elkton, M.D./Red Lion Christian) also recorded an RBI in the inning with a single to left. Nyack's Jayna Celano put the Warriors on the board with an RBI triple in the bottom of the inning making it 6-1.
* The Tigers made it 9-1 in the top of the fifth scoring three runs including an RBI double to left by Smith. With the threat of the run-rule, Nyack was able to score three in the bottom of the inning to keep the game going.
* Holy Family finished out its scoring with a run in both the sixth and seventh innings including another bomb by Hansen in the sixth. The Warriors' Izzy Murillo hit a sac fly in the bottom of the seventh to score her team's last run and ending the game 11-5.

* Hansen finished the game with a team-leading and season high three hits and six RBI. Smith also notched a season high three RBi and finished the game 2-for-3.

Ashley Remington (Collegeville, Pa./Pope John Paull II) recorded the win going 4.2 innings allowing six hits and four runs while striking out eight. Freshman
Jalecia Blackston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Technical) finished out the final 2.1 innings allowing one run off of two hits while striking out one.
* For Nyack, Celano and Jessa Johnson led their team with two hits apiece.
How It Happened (Game 2)
* In game two, Remington got the Tigers going ripping a two-RBI double. The Tigers would score four in the inning with senior
Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) and freshman
Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) each notching RBIs off of singles.
* Junior
Maria Leedom (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy) scored on an RBI double from
Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) to make it 5-0 in the second.
* An RBI single by Celano put the Warriors on the board in the bottom of the third making it 5-1. Nyack put two more on the board in the fifth capitalizing on a Tiger error.
* Holy Family plated four in the sixth including a triple from Hagy netting her three RBI.
* Nyack scored its final run in the bottom of the sixth off a Tiger error making it 9-4. Holy Family's Ciasullo shut down the Warriors in the seventh to seal the victory.
Inside the Box Score (Game 2)
* Ciasullo pitched a complete game allowing only one earned run off of three hits with six strikeouts.
* Holy Family totaled 11 hits in the nightcap with Hagy leading her team with three hits and four RBI. Remington and Ciasullo each recorded two hits to add to the offensive effort.
