How It Happened

* Hansen delivered a liner to left field to drive in senior Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) for the game-winning run.  Two batters prior, Smith singled to right field to reach base.  Holy Family started the bottom of the seventh trailing 8-7.  Junior Maria Leedom (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy (Shippensburg)) led the inning off with a pinch-hit double.  Leedom would go on to score on a fielding error by the Dolphins which allowed senior Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) to reach base and advance to second base. Martinez advanced to third on Smith's single.  On a close play at the plate, Martinez was thrown out trying to score on a fielder's choice.

* Staten Island put the pressure on the Tigers in the seventh when the Dolphins tied the game and regained the lead thanks to a two-out triple by Anissa Acosta.  Acosta's two-run triple gave the Dolphins an 8-7 lead.

* Holy Family trailed 6-3 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning.  The Tigers totaled five hits leading to four runs in the inning to grab their first lead of the game at 7-6.  After a leadoff double by Hansen, freshman Emma Clayborne (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) homered to center field to make it a 6-5 game.  Freshman Sam Ciasullo (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) followed with a double before freshman Deanna Moser (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) drove in pinch-runner Dana Moser (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan (Stockton)) with a single up the middle to tie the game.  Two batters later Martinez singled to left field to drive in the go-ahead run and give the Tigers a 7-6 lead.

* The Dolphins led 4-0 after 2.5 innings.  The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the third to cut the lead in half at 4-2.  Smith and Ciasullo each had run scoring hits in the inning.
