How It Happened (Game 1)

* Senior Jasmine Martinez (Riverside, Calif./Riverside Polytechnic) drove in the game-winning run in the top-half of the eighth inning with a double to leftfield to score freshman Lauren Hagy (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan).  Hagy began the inning on second base with the international tie-break rule in effect.

* In the bottom of the inning, the Tigers came up with a big double-play.  With a runner on second to start the inning, freshman pitcher Jalecia Blackston (Levittown, Pa./Bucks County Technical) forced a flyout to rightfield and in turn, Martinez threw out the Dolphins' runner attempting to tag up at third base.  After a two-out walk, Blackson got the final batter to ground out to end the game.

* In the fifth, senior Elaina Hansen (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) tied the game at 4-4 with a two-run home run.  The Tigers grabbed their first lead of the game in the sixth when senior Abigail Smith (Elkton, Md./Red Lion Christian Academy) drove in Hagy who reached base after getting hit by a pitch to lead the inning off.

* The Dolphins tied the game in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings as neither team managed a run in the seventh.  Elizabeth Moore drove in Claudia Porcaro to tie the game at 6-6.

* Staten Island opened the game leading 3-0 after Anissa Acosta recorded a three-run homer.
