How It Happened
* Holy Family overcame a nine-point fourth quarter deficit to force overtime. The Tigers trailed 50-41 after Hanna Thrainsdottir hit a jumper for the Lions to open the fourth quarter. Holy Family responded with a 12-2 run over a five-minute span to grab the lead. Junior Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) scored the first seven points of the run before senior Megan O'Connell (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Huberts) made it a two points game with a layup. Sophomore Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) drained a three to cap the run to give the Tigers a 53-52 advantage at the 4:51 mark.
* Both teams would exchange leads down the stretch with the game being tied three times. Holy Family tied the game for the final time when Moore scored a layup basket to make the score 59-59 with :46 seconds remaining in regulation.
* On the next GCU possession, freshman Ava Morrow (Morgantown, Pa./Twin Valley) came up with a clutch block on a Tian Addison jumper. The Lions gained possession on the team offensive board, but O'Connell would force a turnover with a steal as the Tigers quickly called a timeout to advance the ball with :11 seconds to go. Outside the timeout, the Tigers had an opportunity to take the lead but Moore's shot came up short. The Lions once again got possession off the team rebound and like the Tigers called a timeout to advance the ball up court. The Tigers' defense didn't allow GCU to get off a shot after in-bounding the ball resulting in overtime.
* In overtime, GCU scored the first four points and went on to outscore the Tigers, 12-3. The Lions shot 4-of-6 from the field and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the extra quarter. The GCU defense held the Tigers to just 1-of-10 shooting in OT.
* Holy Family led 23-16 early on in the second quarter before Georgian Court used a 17-6 run the final nine minutes of the quarter to lead 33-29 at halftime.
