Tigers Compete at Fastrack National Invite

Staten Island, N.Y. – The Holy Family University women's track & field team competed at the annual Fastrack National Invite comprised of a number of teams from Division I, II, and III on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.

Meet Highlights

* In the 60-meter dash race, freshman Kahdia Jones (Daytona Beach, Fla./Atlantic) finished fourth overall in the event with a time of 8.14 seconds. Jones also took part in the 200-meter dash and set a new personal-best as she finished in a time of 25.98 seconds (16^th).

* Junior Shania Le Maitre (Champs Fleurs, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name Convent) finished seventh overall in the 800-meters as she finished in a personal-best time of 2:19.34.

* Junior Hager Khowessa (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations) set a personal-best in the 60-meter hurdles as she finished 13^th overall in a time of 10.32 seconds.

* Junior Korryn Braxton-Young (Wilmington, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) finished 11^th overall in the shot put as she recorded a distance of 38' 10.5" (11.85m). Braxton-Young also took part in the weight throw event and finished with a distance of 39' 7.75" (12.08m) (38^th).

Next Up
Holy Family returns to action in two weeks as the Tigers compete in the annual ECC Indoor Track & Field Championships to close out the indoor season. The championship meet is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
