WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Trailing by 20 points early in the second half, the HFU men's basketball team battled back to within eight before eventually running out of gas in a 60-80 loss at West Chester on Thursday night.
Individual Highlights
- David Robinson Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) led all players with a career-highs 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season
- Malik Archer (Philadelphia, Pa./Mathematics,Civics & Science Charter School (Beaver County CC)) was the only other Tiger in double-figures with 15 points, to go along with a game and season-high three steals
- Phil Brown Jr. (Hillside, N.J./Hudson Catholic (District of Columbia)) scored nine points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting in his Holy Family debut
- Jake McGonigle (Ocean City, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) fell on assist shy of a game-high with a season-best six assists

- Holy Family held a 17-9 advantage in fastbreak points and 16-9 edge in bench points, but the Golden Rams outrebounded the Tigers 47-29 while making 11-of-26 3-pointers (42.3 percent)
How it Happened
First Half
- West Chester opened the scoring with a triple and led throughout, with Robinson Jr. baskets getting HFU as close as one twice at the 19:00 (2-3) and 17:59 (4-5) marks
- Nine unanswered capped a 14-3 run for a 9-22 advantage with 9:04 left in the first half
- Holy Family came back with the next seven points, with Archer scoring the first five before Tazir Cantey's (Lindenwold, N.J./Eastern Regional) floater brought the Tigers within six, 16-22, a minute and a half later
- The Golden Rams scored 10 in a row though, for a 16-32 lead 5:05 ahead of the break
- Robinson Jr.'s 3-pointer later brought the scoreboard to 25-42 entering the locker room
Second Half
- West Chester opened the second with a 3-pointer to build the first of three game-high 20-point advantages, the second coming with 17:16 to play, 29-49
- Robinson Jr. led a rally that got HFU as close as eight twice, scoring seven points in an 18-6 surge that made the score 47-55 on Cantey's layup with 11:15 remaining
- Brown Jr. then made a layup 55 seconds after for another eight-point score-line, 49-57, but the Tigers could never get within two possessions
- The Golden Rams responded with eight unanswered to make it a double-digit lead for good
