Three Holy Family University track & field student-athletes have earned weekly honors from the East Coast Conference (ECC) for their performances at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week – Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College)
Making his collegiate debut, Bowen set an NCAA provisional with a school record to win the long jump. Topping the field of 41, Bowen marked at 7.22m to move into 11th in Division II and break Shane King's school record of 6.91m set in Feb. 2015
Bowen was also sixth out of 17 in the high jump after clearing 1.90m.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week – Korryn Braxton-Young (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech)
Braxton-Young registered the third-furthest toss, 12.09m, out of 37 entries in the shot put.
Men's Track Athlete of the Week – Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennwood)
Anyika broke the school record in the 300m in his collegiate debut, clocking the 11th-fastest
