Prevost’s Buzzer-Beater Sends Game to Overtime, Where Women’s Basketball Prevails in CACC Opener

LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Carolyn Prevost's (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) buzzer-beating layup sent the game to overtime, where the HFU women's basketball would prevail over Georgian Court, 76-71, in the two teams' Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener on Wednesday evening.

Individual Highlights

That was part of a career performance for Prevost, who led all players with a career-best 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting
- The junior fell one rebound shy of her second career double-double, while also leading the Tigers with a career-high four assists and two blocks
Moe Moore (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) recorded her first double-double of the year with 10 points and a game and season-best 13 boards
- She added three assists and a team-high three steals
Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Skyler Searfoss (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe Area) were both in double-figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively
Making her first career start, freshman Taylor Hinkle (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South) contributed seven points and a season-best seven rebounds
Jessica Riepe (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) added eight points in eight minutes off the bench

How it Happened
First Quarter

After GCU scored the first six points and Tretter answered with a 3-pointer 1:17 in, neither team led by more than a possession in opening 10 minutes, with the Lions beating the buzzer for a 16-18 advantage following 10 minutes of play

Second Quarter

The second period was also played within a single possession, with Riepe's layup giving HFU is largest first half lead, 21-18, 58 seconds in
Again Georgian Court beat the buzzer, this time to knot the score at 30 entering the locker room

Third Quarter

The Lions took the first two-possession advantage since the opening minutes, 33-37, on a layup 3:11 out of the break
That began five straight points that gave GCU the first three-possession lead, 33-40, with 6:17 on the third period clock
Georgian Court then established the evening's largest advantage, 38-47, just under three minutes later
Searfoss responded with a 3-pointer just 19 seconds after, sparking a 12-2 surge that gave the Tigers its first second half lead, 50-49, when Searfoss ended the quarter with two free throws

Fourth Quarter
