FLUSHING, N.Y. – Queens ended the game on a 15-4 run, handing the Holy Family University men's basketball team its first loss, 75-61, on Saturday afternoon.
Individual Highlights
- David Robinson Jr. (Philadelphia, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) recorded his second consecutive double-double with a career and game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 12 points
- Robinson Jr. also matched Jake McGonigle (Ocean City, N.J./Wildwood Catholic) with a team-best two assists
- Malik Archer (Philadelphia, Pa./Mathematics,Civics & Science Charter School (Beaver County CC)) and Aamir Hurst (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann Goretti) led HFU with 14 points apiece, one short of a season-high for the latter who made 4-of-8 field goals
- Eric Esposito (Langhorne, Pa./Conwell Egan) made it four Tigers in double-figures with 10 points
- Tazir Cantey (Lindenwold, N.J./Eastern Regional) matched Esposito, McGonigle and Hurst with a team-best two steals

How it Happened
First Half
- HFU scored the first seven points, holding Queens scoreless for the opening 3:09, and the Tigers led by as many as nine, 11-2, when Robinson Jr. converted a putback 3:49 in
- The Knights scored 14 of the next 19 points to take its first lead, 16-17, with 11:48 remaining in the first half
- Nine unanswered then gave Queens its largest first half advantage, 22-29, 3:49 ahead of the break
- Holy Family responded with five straight points to get as close as two, but the Knights scored six of the final eight points of the half for a 29-35 advantage entering the locker room
Second Half
- Queens matched its lead of seven twice early in the second half, including at 34-41, and the Knights were still ahead 40-45 with 14:44 remaining
- Holy Family first tied the score at 46 on a Cantey layup just over two minutes later, before doing so again at 49 when Jeremiah Alexander (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem (Bloomfield College)) made a 3-pointer with 9:57 to go
- Esposito's free throw gave the Tigers their first second half advantage, 50-49, 1:39 later, but Queens came right back with two foul shots of their own
- A Hurst free throw momentarily knotted the score again, at 51, only to have Queens respond right away to take the lead for good
- That began a 9-1 flurry for the Knights' largest advantage at the time, 52-60, with 5:19 showing
- Holy Family made it a one-possession game, 57-60, on Robinson Jr.'s foul shot with 3:57 to play, but Queens pulled away with the next 13 points
