Aamir Hurst (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann Goretti) has won the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week award for his efforts in the Tigers' 2-0 opening weekend.

The freshman averaged 13.5 points on 11-of-19 shooting (57.9 percent), 3-of-5 3-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws, highlighted by hitting the game-winning triple in Sunday's 66-63 win over AIC. Â

After tallying 12 points and a team-high two steals in his collegiate debut on Saturday, a triumph over regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce, Hurst's 3-pointer with 2:16 remaining turned out to be the final scoring on Sunday, capping a 15-point performance in which he made 6-of-8 field goals and all three of his 3-point attempts.Â
