PHILADELPHIA – Bolstered by All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) performances from
Emma McNamee (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) and
Shania Le Maitre (Champs Fleurs, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name Convent), the HFU women's cross country team placed fourth at the 2022 CACC Championship hosted at Belmont Plateau on Sunday morning.
The fourth-place finish was one shy of the program record set last year, with the Tigers achieving 33 fewer points than fifth-place Chestnut Hill.
- McNamee posted a top-10 finish in her CACC Championship debut, navigating the 5K course in 20:48.5 for her best time at Belmont this season
- Le Maitre earned her first All-CACC honor after narrowly missing out last year, as she crossed 14th in 21:15.6
- Seniors Teresa Faust (Pennsauken, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) (21:51.4) and Julia Lloyd (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) (22:12.5) both joined them in the top-third of the field, with Faust's 19th place finish a new career-best
- Zane' McNeil (Pleasantville, N.J./Charter Tech) clocked in at 23:24.2
- Jade Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Hydel) (23:50.4) and Amber Fisgaer (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (25:57.8) both made their CACC Championship debuts
