LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The HFU Women's Cross Country Team placed third out of seven teams at the season-opening GCU Pine Barrens Challenge held at Ocean County Park on Friday afternoon.
The Tigers finished just three points behind second place Felician with 79, while defeating fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) competitors Georgian Court and Dominican.
Stockton won the event with 23 points.
- Freshman Caitie Kilian (Levittown, N.Y./General Douglas MacArthur) posted a top-five finish – in a field of 53 - in her collegiate debut, completing the 4K course in 16:39.8
- Fellow Freshman Lily Dowd (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) was the second Tiger to cross, in 18:28.6
- Sophomores Oliwia Moyer (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) (18:40.3) and Hannah Perazzola (Bonaire, Ga./Mount de Sales) (19:08.5) also posted top-half-of-the-field finishes
- Dilara Biyik (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) (19:16.9) rounded out HFU's point total, while Kelisa Beckett (Lansdowne, Pa./Penn Wood) (22:35.1) was the next Tiger to cross
- Also making their collegiate debuts on the day were Kacie Donahue (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) (24:37.6) and Katherine Pavon (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) (25:02.2)
