Kilkenny Scores Stunning Free Kick in Women’s Soccer’s 3-0 Win at Dominican

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) opened the scoring with a free kick from over 40 yards out in the HFU women's soccer team's 3-0 win at Dominican, extending the Tigers' unbeaten run to six. 
 
Her stunning strike flew into the top left corner in the 30th minute for her first goal of the season. 
 
Jacqueline Ziegler (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) would then score in her second straight game, with Maddie Maguire (Sewell, N.J./Nazareth Academy (Rider)) setting her up in the 56th minute, before Hannah Florentino (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) made it 3-0 with another impressive strike from the top right corner of the box 6:19 prior to the final whistle. 
 
Brianna Pudlo (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert) made five saves for her second straight shutout, the final of which came in the 83rd minute as the Tigers limited the Chargers to just one shot on frame in the final 24:17.

  • Maguire's assist was her second of the season, while Florentino's goal was her first

First Half
  • Dominican missed wide with the first three shots of the match before Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) registered the first attempt on frame in the 12th minute
  • There were three shots on frame in the span of less than a minute in 18th and 19th, with Kilkenny and Alyssa Hooten (Pocono Summit, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) shots sandwiching Pudlo's first save
  • Pudlo also made a stop four minute later in the 21st 
  • Ziegler was denied twice in the span of 5:02, in the 37th and 42nd minutes, with Maguire firing wide in-between 
Second Half
  • Maguire tested the keeper 4:05 out of the half
  • Pudlo kept the score at 2-0 with a stop 19 seconds after Ziegler's goal, before making another just over 10 minutes later
  • Dominican shot wide in the 80th
  • Holy Family had back-to-back attempts in 82nd minute, with Florentio's effort blocked and Ziegler missing high
  • Pudlo made her final stop 55 seconds prior to Florentio's score
