FLUSHING, N.Y. –
Maura Kilkenny (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Little Flower) opened the scoring for a second straight match, this time just 3:21 in, but Queens equalized in the 75th minute as HFU women's soccer played to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday evening.
The result extends the Tigers' unbeaten streak to seven, tied for their longest since 2010
It was
Allison Loper (Bensalem, Pa./Nazareth Academy (Georgian Court)) who set up the goal via a corner, rolling the ball just inside the top right of the 18 to an unmarked Kilkenny, who curled her long-range effort into the left-side netting.
Both teams had opportunities following the Knights' equalizer, with
Jacqueline Ziegler (Feasterville, Pa./Neshaminy) denied in the 77th minute before
Emily Vickalitis (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) was forced into a save just 21 seconds before the final whistle to preserve the draw.
