PHILADELPHIA – Stephanie Marino's (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) stunning freekick in the 30th minute of play, as the HFU women's soccer team finished their regular season schedule with a 1-0 non-conference senior night victory against regionally-ranked Molly on Thursday night.
The victory was the tigers' sixth of the season and their second of the week. This is also the second time in as many games that HFU has defeated a regionally-ranked opponent.
The lone goal of the match came directly from a free kick on the left side of the box. Marino, on her senior night, stepped up and sent a beautiful strike past the goalkeeper, and into the far side netting of the Molly goal.
Emily Vickalitis (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent) made a career high 13 saves in her first career shutout, stopping nine shots in the second half to keep a clean sheet.
