PHILADELPHIA – The HFU men's soccer team cut a 2-0 deficit in half with 28 minutes remaining, but the Tigers could not find an equalizer in a 3-1 loss to Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.

The Purple Knights opened the scoring with a penalty in the 30th minute before making it 2-0 just 2:30 ahead of halftime.
Touey's back post valley pulled one back on Taylor's corner kick in the 63rd, but Bridgeport closed the scoring 14 and a half minutes later.

How it Happened
First Half
- The Purple Knights had the first two shots in the opening 7:53, the second of which forced Shank's first save
- The Tigers' first attempt, by Gavin Rowan (Levittown, Pa./Neshaminy), missed high in the 14th minute
- Lautaro Berisso (La Plata, Argentina/(Camden County CC)) shot high just over two minutes after Bridgeport's penalty
- The Purple Knights had the final five attempts of the first half, with Shank keeping the score at 1-0 in the 37th minute
Second Half
- Taylor worked Bridgeport's keeper for the first time 2:15 out of the break
- He was also denied just prior to the corner that led to Touey's goal
- Marcelo Ibarra (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) saw his header saved in the 80th minute
- Taylor headed high in the 84th minute, and an ensuing corner led to an Ibarra shot that missed wide
- The Purple Knights' only other attempt on net in the half came with five minutes left
- Will Stackhouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan) kept up HFU's late pressure with a shot on goal 27 seconds later, before Joel Richmond (Bridgetown, Barbados/Church Farm) was denied with the final shot of the afternoon 2:27 ahead of the final whistle
