Men’s Soccer Comeback Halted by Bridgeport on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – The HFU men's soccer team cut a 2-0 deficit in half with 28 minutes remaining, but the Tigers could not find an equalizer in a 3-1 loss to Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field.

Prior to the match, Holy Family honored the senior class of Tyler Shoemaker (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Ryan), Tyler Myers (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge), Eric Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Roman Catholic), Michael Forde (Cambridge, United Kingdom/(Harcum College)), Dakota Taylor (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and Sean Touey (Rockledge, Pa./Abington)

The Purple Knights opened the scoring with a penalty in the 30th minute before making it 2-0 just 2:30 ahead of halftime.

Touey's back post valley pulled one back on Taylor's corner kick in the 63rd, but Bridgeport closed the scoring 14 and a half minutes later.
