Women’s Soccer Extends Unbeaten Run to 10 for First Time Since 2000; Tigers Clinch CACC Tournament Berth with 1-1 Tie at Goldey-Beacom

WILMINGTON, Del. – A Goldey-Beacom goal with 1:32 remaining meant the HFU women's soccer team had to settle for a 1-1 draw, but that did not prevent the Tigers from extending their unbeaten streak to 10 for the first time since 2000 on Thursday afternoon.

The result also meant that Holy Family clinched its 24th consecutive appearance in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament.

HFU took the lead thanks to beautiful build-up play saw the ball swing from left to right in the 66th minute. Once with Lexi Murphy (Woolwich Township, N.J./Kingsway Regional (Saint Francis U)) on the right wing, her ball into the box flicked up off a Tiger and dropped right into the center of the box for Hannah Florentino (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy) to volley into the right corner.

Inside the Box Score
  • Holy Family outshot the Lightning 14-9, including 7-5 in attempts on net
  • Florentino becomes the ninth Tiger to score at least two goals on the season
  • Florentino and Brynn Hess (Benton, Pa./Benton) tied for match-highs with three shots and two attempts on goal
  • Murphy's assist was her second of the year
