PHILADELPHIA – Trailing 2-5 in its first fifth set of the season, the HFU volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 triumph (20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 15-10), the Tigers' ninth straight, at city-rival Chestnut Hill on Thursday night.
Shelby Kinzer (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington) sparked a match-ending 13-5 run, tallying Holy Family's first three points in the stretch on kills.
A
Natasha Yanief (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) kill tied the match at 7-7 and after the Griffins took their final lead at 7-8, the Tigers took control with four unanswered that began with a
Skylar Osenkarski (Harding, Pa./Holy Redeemer) kill and ended with an
Allyssa Hartney (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) block, with two
Isabella Mosquera (West Chicago, Ill./Saint Charles East) points in-between.
Hartney then answered a CHC point with a kill, before teaming with Mosquera for another block.
The Griffins would score one final point, only to have HFU put an exclamation point on the comeback with back-to-back kills by Hartney and
