How It Happened

* Holy Family scored 10 of the first 12 points of the game and never trailed.  Sophomore Caroyln Prevost capped the early 8-0 run with a jumper that gave the Tigers a 10-2 lead by the 4:11 mark of the opening quarter.  The Golden Falcons cut the lead down to 12-8 by quarters end.

* In the second quarter the Golden Falcons came within one possession of the Tigers' lead multiple times.  However, the Tigers responded each time, including a three-point play by sophomore Jenn Kokolus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) to close out the scoring in the first half.  Kokolus scored a fast-break basket and in the process was fouled resulting in an 'And-One' opportunity.  Kokolus converted the free throw to give the Tigers a 26-20 lead at the half.

* Holy Family established its first double-digit lead of the game late in the third quarter.  Leading 34-28 at the 3:14 mark, the Tigers went on a quick 8-0 run to lead by as many as 14 points.  Sophomore Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) made it a 14-point game after a layup basket increased Holy Family's lead to 42-28 with 1:35 to play until the end of the quarter.

* Holy Family still had its double-digit lead in-hand with a 48-36 advantage at the 8:11 mark of the fourth quarter.  However, Felician used a 10-0 surge over the next four minutes to cut the deficit down to two points at 48-46.  Moore ended the Golden Falcons' run with a basket at the four-minute mark to make the score 50-46.  Moore went on to hit another jumper two possessions later to increase the lead to 52-47.

* Under the two-minute mark neither team made a field goal but free throws turned out to be the difference. Felician made it a three-point game with 1:48 to play when Uzor Uchidiuno converted a pair of free throws to make the score 52-49.  Moore split a pair of free throws on the Tigers next turn down the court to turn it back into a two-possession game.  Clutch rebounding by the Tigers allowed Holy Family to make it a six-point game with :25 seconds left.  Senior Megan O'Connell (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Huberts) made two of her attempts to increase the score to 55-49.

* Felician went to the line with :20 seconds showing on the clock and Courtney Logan made both attempts to bring the Golden Falcons to within four points at 55-51.  Outside a Tigers timeout, Felician quickly fouled to extend the game.  Sophomore Lindsay Tretter (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) split a pair of free throws to give the Tigers a five-point advantage (56-51) and to seal the victory.
